Mission & History
MISSION The mission of the Moorestown Theater Company, Inc. (MTC),
a non-profit, inclusive, equal-opportunity community theater organization incorporated in the state
of New Jersey on March 31, 2003, is to: - promote the opportunity for people
of all ages, and especially families, to have fun participating in theater together;
- provide
education and training to young people interested in pursuing theatrical professions;
- provide
orderly, progressive, and purposeful leadership for teaching fundamental skills and techniques in all theatrical disciplines;
- promote the theater experience by attending local, regional (Philadelphia), and national (New York)
productions.
History 2003 03.31: MTC is born (with a March 31, 2003 incorporation date)! 06.14: MTC's 1st
‘public' performance is at Moorestown Day. 07.10: Annie, MTC's 1st Main Stage all-ages musical, opens
at MFS. 08.21: MTC's 2nd ‘public' performance is at Family Fun Day. 2004 01.31: A Broadway Romance is MTC's 1st family cabaret at MCH. 07.08: Footloose
is MTC's 2nd Main Stage all-ages musical at MFS. 07.08: Footloose cast featured live with KYW-3 meteorologist Kathy
Orr. 11.13: MTC offers 1st private audition coaching sessions. 2005 01.15: MTC receives its 1st cultural arts grant from the BCOCHA. 07.07: MTC's Oklahoma! is listed by Money Magazine
as a reason it chose Moorestown as ‘The Best Place To Live In America!'. 10.01: MTC receives funds from BCOCHA

Stage all-ages musical at WAMS. 09.15: MTC begins a partnership with YMCA for dance classes / voice lessons. 12.21:
MTC mails 1st annual appeal, resulting in gifts of $12,000+. 2008 05.31: Main Stage ‘08 Cast sings National Anthem at 2nd Phillies game / CBP. 06.25: MTC hosts 3rd Summer Stage
Theater Camp (6-16) at FBC & OLGC. 07.01: MTC's website is finally ‘out of rehearsal' and goes ‘live'. 07.10: The King And I is MTC's 6th Main Stage all-ages musical at WAMS. 07.12: TKAI cast with Rick Williams is
featured on 6ABC weekend newscasts. 09.08: MTC's website adds on-line registration for three fall activities. 09.13: MTC partners with Hope Community Church for classes & rehearsals. 11.07: MTC starts selling tickets on-line
via its website for the first time. 12.10: Annie, Jr. is MTC's 1st Fall Stage production at HCC. 2009 02.18: Sleeping Beauty, Kids is MTC's 1st Winter
Stage musical at HCC. 04.13: MTC partners with Wickline Casting to host its 1st Film & TV Camp. 05.03: MTC
hosts 1st Studio Recital for its Acting / Dance / Voice students. 05.18: Liberty Property Trust lets MTC use free summer
warehouse space. 06.22: MTC hosts 4th Summer Stage Theater Camp (6-17) at HCC. 07.11: DBATB Cast w/Rick Williams
