Scenes & Songs is Moorestown
Theater Company's own unique production that brings audiences an amalgam of dramatic, comedic, and musical scenes
from best-loved Broadway shows, movies and television. Created and directed by MTC trustee and performer Tom
McHale, this year’s collection of scenes vary in length and style and brings you on a journey from Monty Python’s Flying Circus, Hair, and Moonstruck, to Into the Woods, The Full Monty and many more.
“For a wonderful variety of theater performances,
you just can’t spend your entertainment dollars better than seeing Scenes & Songs II”, said McHale, who besides
directing the overall production, is directing six of the 15 individual scenes and songs. “After a great debut last
year, I am even more excited about the level of talented performers who are in this year’s production.”
The
production will include a scene from Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple, with 6abc Action News anchor Rick Williams playing the sloppy, easygoing ‘Oscar Madison’
and MTC Producing Artistic Director Mark Morgan playing the neat, uptight ‘Felix Unger’.
Also featured are
scenes from The Breakfast Club and Death of a Salesman. And, prepare to be wowed by songs performed from Broadway musicals
A Chorus Line; A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum; How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying; Little Women; The Phantom of the Opera; Rent; and West Side Story.
Due
to some mature dialogue and lyrics, MTC is suggesting a rating of PG-13 for this production.
